Dear Dearborn Public Schools Virtual K-12 Families,
We hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. The instructional staff has been preparing for an exciting school year. To date, there are over 570 students in our school. Elementary, Middle, and high school will follow the high school entry and dismissal times, 7:50 am – 2:45 pm.
Our main office is now located at Michael Berry Career Center School located at 22586 Ann Arbor Trl, Dearborn Heights, MI. 48127. The phone number has remained the same 313-827-8405. Office hours are still 7:15am-3:15pm Monday-Friday. All visits need to be scheduled prior to coming to the office. And later appointments can be made on Tuesdays if scheduled ahead of time.
This year, we have our Open House, supply pick up and mandatory parent meeting AND student pictures scheduled on August 22nd at the Michael Berry Career Center. We will meet in the Lecture Hall thru door #1 in accordance with the following schedule. Please make sure you follow your grade level times.
High School students and parents
9am – 9:20am: 9th, 10th,
9:35 am – 10:15 am 11th, 12th graders and parents
Middle School students and parents
10:30 am – 11:30 am: 6th, 7th, 8th graders and parents
Elementary School students and parents
1:15 pm – 3 pm Grades k-5 and parents
The parent meeting will begin at the time listed above and then students will be able to pick up supplies and take school pictures. We recommend bringing a box or book bag to carry supplies in.

School starts August 25th. Students are expected to be logged into zoom with their cameras on and ready to learn.
New students need a district Chromebook, you may go to the Administrative Service Center located at 18700 Audette. A parent/guardian must be present. Please call to make an appointment at 313-827-3075.
Students who attended Dearborn Public Schools last year should already have a chromebook. If you have any issues with your child’s chromebook or need to get a District provided Chromebook, please call them to make an appointment.
The School Day:
Elementary Schedule (grades 1-5)
Classes begin at 7:50 am and end at 2:45 pm. Half day dismissal is 10:55 am. Early release Tuesday dismissal is 1:15pm.
There will be a scheduled lunch break and two recess breaks.

There will be a 38 minute scheduled lunch break.

As stated in the student expectations, it is required that students keep their cameras on so their face is clearly visible during instruction. This will allow teachers and students to build positive relationships and engage all learners. Teachers will also be able to see non-verbal signs of confusion, stress, excitement and other emotions. Cameras must clearly show the face of students or risk being removed from Virtual.
Together, we can support each child in high academic achievement but it will take positive collaboration from all of us. Class participation, daily attendance for all lessons, and completion of assignments are expected of every student. Please review the student and parent expectations with your child.
